Favorite project of the year so far:
  • Decorating our apt. and finding new furniture

Decorating can be tough on a budget so I usually find a couple of splurges that I absolutely love and think I can't live without then find patience to wait on other items to find good deals. Sometimes it drives me nuts leaving things unfinished in the apt. but then again I know if I buy something on impulse I'll end up not liking it later...and that's why I don't have any pictures up in the family room yet. I'm waiting to find just the right frames and find a picture wall arrangement that I like.

Most recent purchase was a rug from Pottery Barn on KSL. I waited for about 5 months to come across the one I wanted and of course it was a fraction of the price from what you'd buy retail at PB. It was in mint condition and a cute couple had only owned it for a couple of years and then moved and it didn't match their new color scheme. Little treasures found on KSL can be worth the wait.

Here are some pics of the humble abode. I have added some things since I've taken these's still a work in progress, but here's a little tour. Spare bedroom has officially turned into a dump everything and anything into this room so no pics of that. It's my next project to attack!

stained cement floors. hard to keep clean ay yi, but still a fun change

before lamp shapes and bedding were bought

I love jute rugs
apocathery jars found on Amazon
The ribbon and berries were on a previous wreath that I had for a long time.
I took it apart and super glued the berries to the ribbon and then tied around the towels!

So cute! I love the idea with the make-up brushes, mine are always in disarray on the table. Love you!

I love the make up brushes too! So cute! I've been avoiding joining Pinterest b/c I know I'll spend HOURS on there. :)

You always positively encourage me to keep up blogging and I was about to start prodding you to do the same. :) Love the apartment! A few things: Love the silver bead details on the sofa, love the apothecary jars, jealous of your updated kitchen, love the summery sand/shells bowl (so much I might steal it back :) Great job Miss Martha Stewart, you are a girl after my own heart.
